Yellow Coat – New Look 6832

Posted on April 29, 2009. Filed under: Sewing |

I’m so glad it’s done!!!
In the past I haven’t had the time to devote to one garment like I could with this one. I have extricated myself from many of my husband’s companies and now for the first time since I bought The Stitchery in 2005 I am not acting as an [...]

Hemming The Yellow Coat

Posted on April 28, 2009. Filed under: Sewing |

A terrible virus has eaten the operating system of our home computer and it is under repair.
The yellow coat is being hemmed today. I will have plenty of things to say about this pattern when the computer is back up and running. In the mean time you can see plenty of [...]

Yellow Coat: Melding Sew-In Interlining to Boucle

Posted on April 8, 2009. Filed under: Sewing |

I’m finally getting beyond the cutting and into the assembly of the yellow mood coat, using New Look 6832.
This boucle has a nice hand but is prone to stretching and is loosely woven, allowing for the construction details to show through to the outside of the garment. I originally cut [...]

Style Lines Aside: This Marfy’s for Me!

Posted on April 2, 2009. Filed under: Business, Cancer, Sewing |

I’ve ordered my first Marfy and I’m excited. The catalog came from Nancy Erickson and I just couldn’t stop looking at this pattern.
