An Authoritative Layout

Vogue Patterns Ad (remember to click “back” to return to this blog or this screen will be closed)

I like seeing such an eye popping, thought provoking, and probably quite inexpensive  layout like this one that also landed in my inbox this morning.  I especially like the section at the bottom which changes the angle of the items shown and gives depth and a feeling of reality to the whole layout.

It’s interesting that the Safari jacket in medium brown is the first thing seen when the ad is viewed in email, as opposed to a more tricky, gimicky design or a brighter color.  I’ve seen that style touted as the most important for Spring 2006 and the traditional belts, buckles and tabs speak “Authority”

About Mary Beth

I am fascinated by changing patterns and colored threads. I sew garments and am teaching myself to machine knit. Since selling the building that housed my workrooms, The Stitchery, I'm searching for a place to set up the knitting machines again. There must be room here somewhere!

  1. What a beautiful, classy ad. Limiting the number of styles also makes each seem more exclusive.
