Dale of Norway yarns, anyone? Take some time to click around this website to see what’s there.
Ohhhh, winter will be coming!
There is a yahoo group called Fabrics and Notions2 (notice the “2”, it’s and auxiliary to Fabrics and Notions) that is initiating a coop purchase of FALK, 100% new wool sport weight, wears like iron and supersoft (I’m paraphrasing the email that went out to the group’s members) Superwashed…can be machine washed without shrinking. And HAUK 100% new wool sport weight, treated with Teflon to make it rain and snow resistant.
You have to join the group (it’s painless and quick, and unless you want all emails, set to receive “Special Notices” to avoid email bottleneck) Joining a coop and purchasing through it can be a good way to save money but you do have to wait for the purchase to be closed, the yarn shipped to the buyer and than the buyers ships to you. It certainly isn’t instant gratification! But in most cases the prices are lower than what you’d pay in a brick and morter store, even with all the shipping added in.
I’m just passing this on *in case* you’ve been lusting after Dale of Norway yarns and can wait until the coop purchase is distributed.
You can always go to the Dale of Norway website and use the Dealers button to locate a store near to you. This helps to keep the yarn supply that is local to you open and available for future purchases. We want to support our independent stores, as well.
