I have some notes I wanted to send you about pattern #4008. They are as follows:
The pattern has a very slim tailored fit. For a contemporary fit with more ease, make one size larger than your measurements indicate. There is an addendum included in the pattern regarding this.
Also, the shirt calls for decorative snaps closures. Stonemountain & Daughter Fabrics in Berkeley, CA is carrying a great selection of colored snaps specifically to accommodate this pattern! They do mail order and their number is (510)-845-6106.

Oh how I would have loved this shirt back when i was a teenager, riding in the local rodeo in Berryville, Arkansas! Yummy!
Decades of Style #4008 would have been just the favorite thing in my closet. Love the shape of the yokes!!!
They have also added two other 1940’s patterns: a great skirt, the Arches Skirt and the New England Dress.
And are offering a 20% discount (use the discount code DRS2009) on these 3 new patterns until July 25.
For my heavy high hip shape the skirt is not going to work too well, but for a luscious hourglass, (yes, Lorna, this one’s for you!) it would be beautiful.
And the dress is divine and would work well on many shapes, after you have performed those miracle alterations to suit you, even those with little waist, as the dress’s very details will build in the illusion of a nipped in waistline. How perfect is that???
I may just buy the Western Shirt pattern and make it up in a lovely blue wrinkle free cotton, white yoke and cuffs, with red roses embroidery and red broadcloth piping, just for the shear joy of the sewing of it!
