I’m here. Thanks to everyone for all your wonderful comments over the past 3 months – you helped me keep my head above water. Thank you so very much.

I am forcing myself to write something bloggy since I’ve been waiting for inspiration, worrying about taking photos and nothing was flowing to the page….

Did you all buy the August Vogue and see this Oscar de la Renta layout on pgs 82-83? Now, this is feminine beauty in my book. I liked the whole layout in fact while many of the ads in the rest of the magazine disturbed my sense of space and style.

Wooo hoooo:

Fat chance I’ll see the original outfit but it looks like this is a two piece garment or a dress with a welted seam at the lowered waist or is that the edge of a pocket? The poofed sleeves could have easily been done so wrong, but on this model, with her shape and the overall curves and proporations of the dress and hat, they are just wonderful, don’t you think?

But back to reality:

I had to force myself to write about the cancer in order to accept it so now I’ll force my creaky ole’ self to move to the next phase…

Gettin’ over it.

I won’t know how “over it” I am until a test in 3 weeks but it’s looking like I’ll get a clean bill of health. Adjust and cope, adjust and cope.

I’m close to having my old energy level back, finally!!! Yipee!!! but I’m sad to leave the afternoon naps behind, they were so peaceful. I normally have a hard time sleeping and this was something wonderful to experience.

Oh, I’ve been quiet but nothing has been static in the past two months:

1. First, the family business had great need of emergency bookkeeping which took up 2 intense weeks of record sorting in order to be ready to apply for a loan to add a retail space onto our building. This is HusPartner’s new “thing”… but I sure did need new glasses for sorting through all that paperwork.

2. My nephew needed a place to live (suddenly) so in less than 24 hours he had a new room, fully furnished, at The Stitchery …. Helllloooo, Nephew! He also got an instant job at the company and is now doing very well. HusPartner is appreciating the help as the summer orders gush in for the Fall season of school startups.

3. The Stitchery, meanwhile, is now too cramped to even cut out a pair of pants. Prior to Nephew moving in I had closed the commercial sewing workroom at the company and brought all the machines and inventory into what once was the knitting room. Uh-oh, there’s only two sewing rooms left and they are not large rooms. And all the knitting machines are pushed into a corner. There’s not enough space to cut out anything larger than 2 foot square, even on the floor ~~Ohh nooooooo~~

4. And to top off all this topsy-turvy activity the daycare that my HusPartner has owned for over 25 years has closed since the directress has retired. The building is now vacant and badly needing remodeling. I worked there for a week and a half but it just proved too much for my body to do all the wall washing, sanding and painting. I just couldn’t do the work so we hired a crew to get the project done right.

5. We are waiting to see if the building leases out to a new childcare tenant. If it doesn’t,

6. Then I’ll have to move The Stitchery into the sparkling white, newly remodeled, wide open building. And nephew will either get roommates to be able to afford the rent at The Stitchery or we’ll move in a new family.

Eeesch, maybe all that stuff is why I just feel like I’ve lost my footing during this “recovery”. I think I missed the “recovery” part.

Now I’m waiting for a part to the laser cutter to come in so that the fabrics for my commercial sewing can be cut accurately…a little commercial sewing left to do and then I hope to focus on coming back into my own life.
